Subject: New Oil requirement for MAN Common Rail engines

After evaluating oils available in the US market the factory recognizes only two oils that meet the requirements they want in common rail engines. Those oils are:

Mobil Delvac 1 SHC 5W-40

Mobil Delvac XHP Extra 10W-40

From this point forward when changing oil in common rail engines it is necessary to use one of these two oils. There is no need to immediately change the oil already in the engines. On the next oil change use one of the above listed oils. Also as a reminder the breather filters need to be changed when performing oil changes.

As time progresses undoubtedly more oils will be added however until further notice use only the products listed above.

Lastly, the oil change interval remains at 200 hours.

Subject: Annual Injector Servicing

Engine affected: Inline and V-type engines of the family D 28 used in pleasure boats.

Change of service schedule: With immediate effect the requirement to check the operation of injectors annually has been altered.

The intervals between inspections have now been extended from 12 month to 24 month or 1200 operating hours whichever comes first.

However if an engine shows any sign of the following symptoms, inspection of the injectors may be necessary before the 24 month period.

• Loss of performance

• Drop in engine rpm

• Increase in exhaust gas temperature

• Uneven running of the engine

Please note that when a reprint of the owner's boardbook is made the service schedule will be altered to reflect the above changes.

NOTE - Injector nozzles are a service item, and are not accepted under warranty or goodwill.
